Our Ship - Viking Sun

We sail through Northern Europe and along the Rhine on the Viking Sun, part of Viking's award-winning European fleet that are the best ships sailing in European rivers today.

The largest sun decks on any ship on the Rhine give us the ultimate sightseeing experience, especially along the fabled castle segment of the Rhine. Castles pop up on both sides of the ship nearly once a mile – and we have unencumbered views of them all – views you could never see from shore!

The Viking Sun, compact enough to sail along rivers and coastal European waterways, is still spacious, and brings the scenery inside: with high ceilings, panoramic windows, French balconies, - a soaring airy atrium, even huge panoramic windows in the restaurant.

Ah, the restaurant. We have many fond memories of dining on the Viking Sun. 4 and 5 course meals, all with local flavour options to make you feel at home in Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. The dining room is the social hub of the ship, with open seating to make you feel at home with new friends, and spontaneous celebrations like German Fruhschoppen, a mid-morning Oktoberfest – with polka included!

Evenings at the bar are relaxed and stylish, a great place to recap the day, and anticipate the cultural and scenic highlights of the next day on the Viking Sun's itinerary.
