Our Ship is the Viking Century Sky, an award winning, state of the art river cruise vessel. River cruise ships have to be smaller in scale than most ocean-going vessels, but Viking ships offer their guests a sense of relaxed refinement.

On this ship, every stateroom even has its own full balcony! What better way to see the scenery along the Yangtze river float by. And relax in surprisingly spacious staterooms with full hotel style beds and comfort.

It's said to be one of the most sophisticated river cruise ships in the world, the first on the Yangtze ever to have a full, Western-style kitchen, and far more service than you think possible with the number of staff. We weren't the only guests to look forward every day to the four and five course meals. And the special Chinese dinner – magnificent! With touches you wouldn't expect on a smaller ship, like live local music, and elaborate vegetable carvings for presentation.

The food? Superb, with Chinese menus created especially for Viking by celebrity chef Martin Yan.
We join the Viking Century Sky's 300 guests in receptions in the elegant lobby, on the sun-deck with its 360 degree views, and we even visit the on-board tailor shop to get custom local outfits made – a perfect fit for both Jay and me!
